Orders usually take 1 week to make and then a week to ship. We’re located in Southern California, so if you’re on the west coast, shipping times will be faster. You can expect to receive your sign no later than 3 weeks after ordering.

Yes, a wood sign can be hung outdoors, but it will need to be properly treated to withstand the elements. We offer an optional exterior clear-coat finish on most of our signs. Here are some tips to make sure your outdoor wood signs last longer:

1. Sealing and Waterproofing: Apply an outdoor-rated sealant or varnish to protect the wood from rain, humidity, and UV rays. We recommend a spray-on Spar Urethane finish for its longevity and easy application.
2. Mounting: If you’re using your own mounting hardware, make sure the hardware and mounting methods are also weather-resistant, using stainless steel or galvanized screws to avoid rust.
3. Placement: Hanging the sign under an overhang or in a somewhat sheltered area can help prolong its life, as direct exposure to sunlight, rain, and wind can wear it down faster.

Exterior finish is a polyurethane clear coat that we apply to signs at an extra cost. If your sign will be displayed outdoors, exterior finish is a great way to extend the life of your sign. We recommend using exterior finish whenever your sign will be displayed outside, exposed to the elements or in direct sunlight.

To extend the life of a wooden sign, we recommend re-applying exterior finish every 1-2 years. If you’ve ordered a sign without exterior finish and you’d like to add a finish, fret not! It’s very easy to add your own finish to a sign. There are numerous finishes available at your local hardware store. We recommend a spray-on polyurethane finish because it’s easy to apply and it should last a long time depending on how much it’s exposed to the elements.

Note that a finish will slightly darken the wood color.

We use Birch wood and the thickness will depend on the dimensions of your sign.

Rectangular and circular signs use a 1/2″ base with 1/4″ laser cut logo pieces. Some smaller signs will require 1/8″ thickness for the logo. These signs are usually 3/4″ thick total.

Park Signs use 1/4″ thickness for the both the background and foreground for a total of a 1/2″ thick sign.

Sawtooth Hangers(Usually on 1ft – 2ft signs)

Piano Wire Hangers(Usually on 3ft – 5ft signs)

Standoffs(Usually on 5ft+ signs)

No Hanging Hardware(If you have your own hanging/mounting method)
