Turning a business logo into a wood sign is one of the most common things we do, and it is more approachable than most people expect. You do not need a special file or a design background. Here is how it works, and what makes a logo translate well into wood.
What file works best
A vector file (.svg, .eps, .ai, or .pdf) is ideal, because it can be scaled to any size and cut cleanly. If you have one, send it. But most people do not have their logo in vector format, and that is fine. A high resolution PNG or JPEG works too, and if the artwork needs cleaning up or redrawing to cut well, we handle that for you. Send whatever you have.
How a logo becomes a raised sign
Your logo is not printed onto the wood. Each element is laser cut from birch as a separate piece and glued onto the background by hand, so the logo stands proud of the surface and casts a real shadow. That raised, layered look is what makes a wood raised logo sign read as premium rather than flat. Fine detail can be cut down to a point, and anything too intricate to cut cleanly can be engraved instead, so almost any logo can be made to work.
Color and brand matching
The background stain and the logo color are chosen separately, so you can match your brand closely. We offer a wide range of stains and paint colors, including metallics, and multi-color logos are no problem since each piece is finished separately anyway. If your brand has specific colors, tell us and we will get as close as paint allows.
You see it before you commit
This is the part that removes the risk. Before anything is cut, we send you a free digital proof showing your exact logo on your chosen stain at your chosen size. You approve it or ask for changes, revisions are free, and nothing goes on the laser until you are happy. Choosing a size
For a reception desk or an office wall, most business signs land between 24 and 36 inches wide. For a storefront, or a sign meant to read from the street, larger is better. If you are unsure, tell us the wall and the viewing distance and we will suggest a size.
