A media production company sign works twice. It hangs in your office like any
other business sign, and then it turns up on set, at events, in behind the scenes footage and in
the background of every piece of content you shoot about yourselves.
That second job is the one people forget when ordering, and it is the one that should shape
the choice.

The project: antique white with a black script logo
A production company came to us with a flowing script wordmark and wanted something clean and
bright. Antique white stain, black lettering.
Script logos are the interesting technical problem in wood. A handwritten or brush style
wordmark has thin connecting strokes between letters, and those hairlines are the weak point.
Cut them at true scale and they are fragile, both on the machine and afterwards on the wall.
The fix is to thicken the thinnest strokes very slightly, by an amount small enough that
nobody looking at the finished script logo wood sign would notice, but enough
that the piece holds together as one solid object. Getting that judgement right is most of the
skill in cutting a script mark, and it is why we always show the adjusted artwork on the proof
before anything is cut.

What production companies and creative agencies need
- Portable. It goes to shoots, events and client meetings, not just the wall.
- Neutral enough for any set. A loud base limits where it can appear.
- Matte. Gloss and video lighting do not mix.
- Reads at small crops. Logos in video get scaled down hard.
- Durable edges. Anything that travels gets knocked.
Sizing a production company sign by where it appears
| Use | Typical size | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Office reception or studio entrance | 36″ x 18″ to 48″ x 24″ | Seen from a door, needs presence |
| On camera behind a presenter | 24″ x 12″ to 36″ x 18″ | Reads clearly without dominating the frame |
| Edit suite or interior wall | 24″ x 18″ to 36″ x 24″ | Standard interior viewing distance |
| Events, stands and premieres | 24″ x 18″ and under | Has to travel and be handled |
| Large studio or double height space | 48″ up to 60″ | Big volumes need scale |
If the sign is going on camera, check it at the crop you actually shoot. A wide
production company logo sign loses its ends in every vertical video, which is
where most of this content now lives.
Frequently asked questions about production company signs
Can you cut a script or handwritten logo in wood?
Yes. Thin connecting strokes are thickened very slightly so the piece is structurally sound. You
see and approve the adjusted artwork on the proof first.
What is the smallest a script logo can go?
It depends on how fine the thinnest stroke is. Send the file and we will tell you the smallest
size it will hold at, honestly, rather than cutting something that will fail.
Does antique white look the same as white paint?
No. It is a stain, so the grain still shows. White paint is flat and hides the wood entirely.
Antique white is the better choice when you want bright and still obviously timber.
Can we get a second one for a satellite office?
Yes, and we keep the spec and color mix on file so a repeat order matches rather than
approximates.

Send us your wordmark and we will return a free digital proof, including any
adjustment we would make to fine strokes so you can approve it before we cut. Handmade in
